NEWS from The Monroe Institute:

Creativity is the magic of our universe. It shapes our lives, enriches our souls and helps manifest our dreams. The very word elicits a variety of emotions for many of us; a longing to be creative, awe for those who are, and a deep knowing that we once were as children, and still are deep within! There are many stages of the creative process to explore and an infinite number of ways to express that creativity. We are offering a new six-day residential program called Creative Flow in August designed to reawaken that part of yourself that longs to live a more enriched, flowing and truly creative life!

If a weekend retreat seems like just the thing for you right now, Peter Russell's Opening to Stillness will be an opportunity to deepen your practice of meditation and explore more fully the nature of spiritual awakening. There will be guided meditation instruction, silent group meditation, alone time in nature, and talks and discussions on various aspects of meditation and the process of awakening. The emphasis will be on the practice of profound simplicity, helping you discover new ways to let go and open to the stillness of natural mind.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) frequently collaborates with other organizations that have similar values, aims, and interests in consciousness and transformation. Such alliances enable IONS to support the development of partner organizations and the communities they serve. TMI and IONS recently renewed their stragetic partnership because we both are dedicated to the exploration of human consciousness and discovering the many possibilities of human potentiality. TMI will continue to offer the Gateway Voyage at ION's scenic campus in Petaluma, California.

Reconstruction of the dam spillway has been completed. Walking to the top of the dam, you will discover Lake Miranon a favorite spot for our guests.

We are remodeling the Bob Monroe Research Lab building; adding three offices and upgrading the isolation booth.

On June 30, we will begin a major remodeling and modernization of the David Francis Hall meeting room and multimedia center. The next time you visit you will enjoy our fresh, new look.

Long-Term Participation in TMI Programs

The Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) is a multi-disciplinary professional organization of scientists and other scholars. Their 27th Annual SSE Meeting will be held June 25-28, 2008, at the Millenium Harvest House, Boulder, CO.

Cam Danielson, an independent researcher, will be presenting a report at the meeting on the benefits of long-term participation in TMI programs. You can see the full report here.

One of the longitudinal questions addressed by the study was, “Does repeated exposure to TMI programs increase the capacity of the participants to deal with the demands of their lives in terms of doing meaningful work, developing and supporting mutually rewarding relationships, and in acquiring skills and attitudes that provoke continual growth and development?”

Analysis of responses from more than 700 TMI program participants to demographic, psychographic (including personality typology), and program effect items demonstrated statistically significant differences in self-efficacy and life satisfaction between those having only attended the initial program – Gateway Voyage – and those attending 3 or more programs.

NEWS from The Monroe Institute:

As you may know, a film crew from Crown Point Productions, also known as Her Domain TV, recently spent a day here in Virginia filming a documentary-like piece for the Oxygen Network. When edited, a few minutes of their efforts will be shown several times to a selected audience of more than one-million viewers. While the film crew was here, an associate photographed their activities and the beautiful surroundings. Click here to view the images.

Those who may wish to bring TMI activities to their community should contact Carol Sabick about new Outreach policies and a new TDAP program. You can email Carol at TMIOutreach@aol.com.

In building active online social networks and new forms of community, it has been suggested that a Blog (or even multiple Blogs) equipped with RSS be made available. Our first Blog is now available and you are invited and encouraged to participate. On the Institute's homepage, drag your mouse over "Blog" in the Menu Bar and then click on [Participate] in the drop-down menu.

If you are coming to a program this year, keep your eye on the schedule and get in touch with the Registrar at TMIPrograms@aol.com. Reserve your space early as six-day seminar programs can fill as much as three months ahead of time.
